PeeWee Upper Girls #2 Sonics 2005

The Joy of Progress By Dean Hara

What is the most important thing for the WPC Sonics? Ask any member of our team and they will say, "Having fun!" Our goal is to teach the girls the fundamentals of basketball and sportsmanship, but most importantly we want them to have fun.

Together the three coaches have over 80 years of experience and would agree that we would like to win more often, but we know that each child is special and I believe God has placed them in our care to help them build their confidence and to enjoy the game. Progress should be measured in terms of individual and team development, not on the number of games won. We will continue to work hard on fundamentals and sportsmanship, while keeping in mind that these girls are only nine years old.

Much has been accomplished in our second year as a team. The parents have been extremely supportive and helpful. As with our Christian lives, it has been a challenging process. But, there is a bright future for the Sonics and we pray for each child to develop a closer relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Lookout WNBA the Sonics are only a fast 10 years away!
