WINTERSBURG SEYO NEWSLETTER SPRING 2005 ISSUE

PeeWee Upper Boys "Jets"

Coaches Perspective (Joseph Chiang & Johnny Sawada):

"The WPC-2 (Jets) PeeWee Boys Upper Team is in its third year as a team. The eight original players who made up the WPC-2 PeeWee Boy Lower Team are Alex Chiang, Alec Hasegawa, Casey Hayes, Logan Kasper,Daniel Miyagishima, Daniel Nakamoto, Shane Sato and Jonathan Sawada. The following year we said farewell to Daniel Nakamoto who moved to Sacramento, however, we were joined by Alex Castaneda, Wyatt Marlow and Chris Yano. The Jet's second season resulted in being the division champions for PeeWee Boys Middle. Which brings us to the 2004-2005 season with the addition of Ryan Duong. This season we hope to continue to see players develop their skills, have fun and enjoy team fellowship. The motto for the Jets Team for the last three years is to ‘Always do our best for Christ and for one another on the team.’ As coaches for the Jets, we pray that the boys will learn to play and love the game of basketball but most importantly that they will come to love the Lord even more."

The Castaneda Family:

"Alex has had this great opportunity to play basketball and meet such nice boys. The coaches have give him such support in more ways than they know. Thanks for the care and good coaching."

The Chiang Family:

"Wintersburg SEYO encourages the development of friendship, teamanship, and structure. Alex has watched his older sister play for Wintersburg since 1995 in Little Hoopsters, then SEYO since 1997-8, and couldn't wait for his turn. His greatest enjoyment comes from the friendship and sense of ‘team’ he's developed over the past two years in SEYO."

The Duong Family:

"Ryan joined The WPC-2 (Jets) PeeWee Boys Upper Team in the fall of 2004, after spending the summer in the Irvine Community Basketball Program. He has learned a lot about the game of basketball since joining the Jets. He enjoys practicing and playing in games with his teammates every weekend. He really works hard to improve his game and contribute to his teammates every way he can."

Alec Hasegawa:

"I love Basketball. I have made lots of new friends and learned a lot from the coaches in SEYO. I like playing basketball with my friends at school, but for some reason it's always wet from the rain. I like being at basketball practice because you can become a better player, and you get to be with your new friends and get to know them better."

The Hayes Family:

"Casey has loved playing on his SEYO team. He has enjoyed being able to come back each year and play with all of his old friends. He has also enjoyed the coaching and support of his outstanding coaches -Johnny and Joe."

Logan Kasper:

"I like learning new skills especially lay ups. The games are exciting and really fun."

The Marlow Family:

"Basketball was a ‘passing’ interest when Wyatt joined the team. A ‘positive’ atmosphere, team play and absolutely outstanding coaching has made basketball a great love for Wyatt. He thoroughly enjoys himself, has a deep affection for his teammates and coaches and looks forward to practices and games. A great program equals a great experience. Many Thanks!"

The Miyagishima Family:

"Daniel enjoys playing basketball and having fun with his friends year after year. We feel very blessed to be able to play for an organization and coaches who integrate Christ into the game. Our team has really bonded and is lead by very caring and encouraging coaches. This program has given us as a family the opportunity to meet and fellowship with wonderful people."

The Sato Family:

"For us, Wintersburg SEYO means fun, family, friendship and fellowship!"

The Sawada Family:

"Jonathan has grown to love the game of basketball as each season progressed and his basketball skills developed. He really enjoys being with his teammates most of all and has fond memories even from Little Hoopsters days. Jonathan's goal is to be the best player he can be and to contribute to his friends."

The Yano Family:
"Chris is building lasting friendships while enjoying the action on the court. He just likes being with his friends."
